The maker’s of ChatGPT have not publicly responded to the unsolicited bid from Musk and his associates.
Musk’s audacious bid has thrown a spanner in Altman’s plans to turn OpenAI in to a for-profit company.
Toberoff told the Journal Musk’s investor group is prepared to match or exceed any higher bids that follow.
‘It’s time for OpenAI to return to the open-source, safety-focused force for good it once was,’ Musk said in a statement to the Wall Street Journal.
